You will be mailed a tax receipt approximately 3 to 5 days after the receipt of your check.

 

For just 33 cents a day (that’s $10 per month) you can provide enough food for 360 meals to hungry people in San Francisco.

Joining Meal-a-Month, our monthly giving plan, is one of the easiest ways to make a commitment to end hunger. Your gift is transferred automatically and securely from your bank account or credit card to the Food Bank.

We’ll take you off our mailing list for funding requests and send you a tax receipt letter totaling your contributions at the end of the year.

If you are currently a monthly donor and would like to make any changes to your gift amount or contact information, please contact our Development Coordinator.

 

Gifts of stock, bonds and mutual funds can allow you to support the San Francisco Food Bank while realizing significant tax benefits such as avoiding capital gain taxes.

In order to complete a donation of securities, please complete BOTH steps below:

STEP 1—Contact your broker to transfer your shares. Below is all the information you should need to complete your transaction:

• For electronic stock transfers, the (DTC) number is 0226

STEP 2—Notify us of your donation by completing our stock donation form or by phone at (415) 282 1900 ext. 228.

Due to privacy concerns, your bank will not tell us that you have made a stock donation to the Food Bank. In order for us to send your tax receipt letter in a timely fashion and confirm that your stock was transferred, you must notify the Food Bank of your donation.

 

Sponsor most-needed items at a pantry of your choice every week of the year. Nearly one hundred pantries are eligible for adoption. The program adds volume, variety and most importantly, greater nutrition, to our distributions.

Fresh produce —and lots more — is always free to every pantry. But the Food Bank typically has to purchase essentials like rice, beans and other items in order to always have them on hand for clients. These are often distributed through our Shopping Program, which allows pantries to "shop" at the Food Bank at a subsidized rate.

We invite you to make your contribution in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, or holiday. A gift card that you can personalize will be sent to the recipient by the San Francisco Food Bank to acknowledge your gift.

 

Employer matching gift programs can double or even triple your donation to the Food Bank. Just send us the matching gift form (usually obtained from your company's Human Resources Department) along with your check and we will handle the rest.

 

You can turn your wheels into meals for hungry San Franciscans - donating your unwanted auto is easier than selling it, and you'll get a tax receipt.

Your vehicle will be towed and sold at auction for free by the Center for Car Donations. Just designate the San Francisco Food Bank as your car donation beneficiary and proceeds from the sale of your car will be directed to us.

If your vehicle sells for over $500 you will receive IRS Form 1098 B & C from the Center for Car Donations.
