Marketing Manager
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Marketing Manager oversees creative marketing for the Development department and broader organization, and supervises the Marketing Associate. This position manages creative direction for publications, marketing materials and the website, creates social media strategy, and manages the production calendar.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong background in marketing for non-profit fundraising, including marketing writing, website development and social media strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategizes and implements plans for integrated marketing, creative production, social media engagement and website development.
2. Responsible for strong brand identity in community, and development of that brand through cohesive and creative use of photography, videography, writing and design. Oversees photography and videography projects, manages work with designers, printers, and other creative consultants.
3. Writes compelling marketing-style copy for the web, publications such as the annual report and marketing materials.
4. Produces compelling and effective materials to support fundraising efforts.
5. Manages the creative direction of eNewsletter, annual report, marketing materials and website.
6. Manages the production calendar and oversees the Marketing Associate’s execution of project deliverables.
7. Develops annual budgets and workplans.
8. Supervises and mentors the Marketing Associate in charge of project management, creative production, web and social media updates and administrative support.
9. Hires and manages relationships with creative consultants, designers and printers.
10. Builds reports and synthesizes analytics to monitor trends and areas of growth.
11. Stays current on emerging non-profit marketing trends, researches strategies and tools.
12. Other duties as assigned, including overseeing Google AdWords and Analytics, and collaborating with other teams on messaging and marketing strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2. 3-5 years of non-profit marketing experience, social media engagement
3. Excellent marketing writing skills
4. Strong portfolio of writing samples and creative production examples
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CMS systems (Drupal preferred) and familiarity with files created with Adobe Creative Suite
6. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
7. Excellent communication skills
8. Supervisory experience a plus

Program Assistant
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Join a collaborative team of motivated individuals designing, supporting and expanding food programs throughout San Francisco and Marin. This position will play an integral role in supporting and maintaining the day to day operations and programs at the Food Bank. We work with human service and faith-based organizations to bridge the gap between millions of dollars of donated foods and tens of thousands of families and individuals struggling to make ends meet in two counties with the highest costs of living in the world.
This position is a full-time non-exempt position. 7:30 am start time required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
1. Delivery Logistics and Programmatic Support
a. Coordinate and communicate delivery logistics between programs and operations staff to ensure timely deliveries to 200+ partner agencies weekly
b. Provide real-time customer service and troubleshooting for any delivery complications to partner agencies by working with both programs and operations staff
c. Create and maintain systems that track the scheduling logistics of various programs
d. Problem solve and provide customer service for partner agency representatives as needed
e. Provide programmatic support to programs staff and agencies as needed, including occasional off-site responsibilities
2. Administrative Responsibilities
a. Track & enter agency reports
b. Support internal and external reporting
c. Coordinate occasional mass mailings
d. Physical and electronic document and file management
e. Support database & account management
f. Assist with audit preparations
g. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience managing databases and data on multiple programs
• Strong attention to detail

Program Coordinator
- Agency Relations
• Provide support to member agencies to improve/expand/sustain food distribution programs and optimize utilization of Food Bank services.
• Inform, monitor and follow up with participating agencies to ensure compliance with Food Bank policies.
• Provide technical assistance to weekly food pantries which can include de-escalating conflicts, training new site staff and volunteers, and introducing new systems.
• Perform outreach in low-income communities to identify, recruit and train community-based organizations to establish food programs. - Program Coordination

Senior Manager, Major Gifts
Job Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Department: Development
Reports to: Director of Development
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Senior Manager, Major Gifts, plays a critical role in planning and executing all major donor cultivation and solicitation activities for the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks. The Senior Manager, Major Gifts, supervises the Major Gifts team and oversees the annual plan to actively solicit gifts of $1,000 or more, and expands and diversifies the major donor funding base in support of the organization’s mission and programs. The Senior Manager, Major Gifts, is an experienced development professional who can work in concert with the Board of Directors and senior management to effectively build strategic relationships with major donors and secure gifts from them. The Senior Manager, Major Gifts must have a demonstrated ability to manage staff effectively while being flexible, energetic and positive. He/she is able to balance attention to detail with a big-picture perspective and enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manages major gifts staff involved in all aspects of identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift donors.
2. Responsible for developing both long and short-range operational plans to strengthen, grow and track the progress of the leadership gifts program.
3. Assigns portions of the prospective and current major donor pool to the other Major Gift Officers and Board members, providing leadership for the implementation of strategies for identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
4. Expands the Food Bank’s major donor base by focusing on acquiring, renewing and upgrading individual donors who make gifts at the $5,000 level.
5. Works closely with the Director of Development and the Annual Fund Manager for annual outreach activities aimed at increasing the donor pool and cultivating/stewarding existing donors and prospective new major donors.
6. Works with the Special Events Manager to secure major donor participation in annual events and with the Food and Fund Drive Manager for the major donor component of food and fund drives.
7. Responds to strategic institutional priorities by planning, setting, and monitoring annual goals aimed at supporting those priorities.
8. Cultivates, solicits and stewards major donors through personal visits and written and oral communications.
9. Provides strategies, briefing materials, written proposals and acknowledgments for the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Director of Development and accompanies them as appropriate on major donor tours and visits.
10. Trains and oversees interaction with board members or other volunteers for major donor fundraising campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
• Several years of demonstratively successful experience in fundraising in an organization with a viable and comprehensive leadership gifts development program.
• Demonstrated supervisory and administrative experience in leadership gifts, including planning, team building and goal setting.
• Effective organizational, marketing and leadership skills.
• Experience and training in major donor cultivation, solicitation and gift stewardship.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage many projects simultaneously.
• Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently.
• Understanding of and appreciation for the Food Banks’ mission and the capacity to project the unique aims and values of the organization to prospective donors.
• Valid driver’s license
