European Wine Trio

Three great wines from Europe’s three wine giants: France, Italy and Spain. Can’t go this summer?  These wines are properly aged, ready to drink and can take you on a quick European experience!

The first wine is a 1989 Chateau Lynch-Bages from France’s Bordeaux region.  It received a score of 98 from Wine Spectator, which described it as, “A wine with great mass; this is a complete fruit bomb, showing blueberry, cassis and mint flavors and tons of silky tannins. Truly amazing; better than the superb '85. Best after 1998. 35,000 cases made.”

Next, visit Italy’s Tuscany region with the La Poderina Brunello di Montalcino 1999.  The Wine Spectator gave this wine a score of 96 and said, “The color is dark and beautiful, and the fabulous aromas feature crushed blackberry, sliced meat and licorice, with some flowers as well. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a wonderful concentration of fruit. Long and caressing. This is just getting better and better.”

Finish your wine tour in Spain with the 1999 Numanthia-Termes Toro Numanthia.  This wine earned a score of 93 from Wine Spectator, which said the wine had a, “Voluptuous international style. This lush Spanish red teems with toasty, chocolate oak flavors, thickly overlaid on ripe plum and blackberry fruit. It's well-structured, with firm, ripe tannins and heady alcohol. Impressive.
