Help to ensure that every child has the chance to reach their full potential by participating in the 2011 San Francisco Schools Food and Fund Drive. This year’s drive features a new “virtual” food drive tool where students, teachers and parents can visit a customized school site and easily track progress to goal, make online donations, post drive updates and find out what the school is doing to support the drive.
Running a Schools Food and Fund Drive is easy! Here’s how:
- You and your school will receive a personalized URL that you can send out to your administration, friends and family, to get everyone to join your drive.
- Order barrels from the Food Bank when you register.
- Promote your drive to your student and parents
- Fill the barrels up with food.
- We can replace full barrels with empty barrels as your organization fills them up. Please allow 2 to 3 days to schedule a swap. You can request a barrel swap through your coordinator login or contact us to schedule.
100 Pound Pledge
Fuel and transportation remain costly – so we’re asking that each participating school commit to collecting at least 100 pounds of food per barrel, over the course of their food drive (approximately 2/3 barrel). If your school is small, you can still help by:
- Hosting a fundraising drive.
- Collecting food in your own containers and delivering it to the Food Bank.
- Donating food at one of our drop-off locations.
Please feel free to contact us for more information or ideas on how you can help.
